HAMILTON REVOLUTION POP WARNER FOOTBALL/CHEER 2021 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT

Greetings Revolution family and Happy New Year!!! We hope that this announcement finds all of you healthy as we continue to navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic. As you know, the 2020 season was cancelled as we put into practice protocols to protect players and families. 

With 2020 behind us, we are getting ready for some exciting new times for football/cheer in Hamilton Township!

As many of you may know, for years there have been two leagues in Hamilton Township – Hamilton Pop Warner Revolution and Hamilton Police Athletic League (PAL).  Both leagues offered the youth of Hamilton an opportunity to play and learn football.

Through the pandemic, PAL and Pop Warner had the opportunity to connect and discuss our two leagues; allowing us to work towards creating an optimal football and cheer experience for the youth of Hamilton.  Phase 1 of our collaboration consisted of fall football and cheer clinics. The football clinics were organized and coached by volunteer staff from both organizations, run with CDC guidelines in place, and ultimately netted in great success. We are pleased to report there were no COVID-19 issues and players were given an opportunity to develop and fine tune their skills over the course of six Sundays.

After careful consideration, analysis, and discussion of goals for the future, both Hamilton PAL and Hamilton Pop Warner agreed to merge into a collaborative partnership to offer the best experience for the youth of Hamilton. #OneHamilton

What does this mean for the Revolution family? 

• The biggest advantage is cost. 
• The football registration fee will be $175.00 per participant. (This was usually only offered as the early bird special but will now be locked in for all).
• There will be a $25.00 credit per sibling.
• 5 and 6-year-old level will remain at $75.00.
• Due to the lack of teams at this level in Central Jersey Pop Warner, this level will be a development division consisting of inter-league play.
• The cheer registration fee will be $195 for Competitive Cheer and $95 for Sideline/Pep-Squad Cheer.
• We will offer a travel football/cheer teams that will remain Pop Warner and an inter-league football/cheer league that will remain Hamilton PAL.

• An opportunity to pool our resources.
• The merger allows the township to provide greater financial support instead of dividing funding between two separate leagues.
• This merger has the support of all three Hamilton Township high school athletic directors and football coaches.
• All coaches will continue to be nationally certified through youth sports and USA Football as in the past. 
• Both Pop Warner and Hamilton PAL will require these certifications for all coaches.
• This will allow for greater continuity and ensures safety protocols for the participants.

• Facilities
• The Director of Hamilton PAL has already begun discussions with the Mayor and recreation department about additional facilities for football/cheer. As you are aware, Ralston Field has historically been the Pop Warner home field.  These talks provide an opportunity for potential improvement or additional space.  We are also working to secure a practice facility for our cheer program.  Facility improvements are a long term goal but we are engaged in discussions about potential locations and other needs.

In the next month we will be sending out additional announcements regarding registrations, other opportunities for clinics, equipment upgrades, and facility upgrades.
